If you're new here, welcome.
We're the Geddie family, and Elliot Farm is our small farm and bakery in Clinton, South Carolina.
Like a lot of families, we found ourselves wanting something that felt increasingly difficult to find. A slower pace, food we knew and trusted, and more opportunities to gather around the table together.
It didn't happen all at once.
What began as learning to bake sourdough at home gradually turned into milling our own flour, raising a backyard flock of chickens, planting a garden, keeping bees, and asking a simple question:
What if we could build a family business around providing real food to other local families?
That question eventually became Elliot Farm.
Today, each Farm Box includes fresh-milled sourdough, pasture-raised eggs, and a seasonal bakery item prepared in small batches from our kitchen. We focus on simple ingredients, careful preparation, and making food we'd be proud to serve our own family.
But Elliot Farm has always been about more than bread and eggs.
We believe some of life's best conversations happen around the table. We believe children benefit from seeing where food comes from and helping in the kitchen. We believe ordinary weekly rhythms like sharing breakfast on Saturday morning, delivering a loaf to a neighbor, baking together on a rainy afternoon have a way of shaping a family over time.
This Journal is an extension of that idea.
Some weeks we'll share what's coming in the Farm Box. Other weeks we'll publish recipes, baking tips, updates from around the farm, or lessons we're learning along the way. We hope it becomes a place you enjoy visiting whether you're looking for dinner inspiration, curious about fresh-milled flour, or simply interested in following along.
We're grateful you've found us.
Thanks for being here, and welcome to Elliot Farm.
